Manuscript Guidelines
Raven Tree Press publishes high quality bilingual (English/Spanish) children's picture books. We look for family oriented storylines with universal appeal for elementary aged children. We do not publish reference books, religious topics, non-fiction, or activity books at this time.
Raven Tree Press is happy to accept new manuscript submissions. We will reply to submissions if a SASE is included with the work or via email, when submitted electronically. Please submit your full children's picture book manuscript double-spaced and written in English. Raven Tree Press will translate if a contract is established. When sending electronically, please submit in Word or PDF format. Be sure name and contact information is embedded in the work.

We accept manuscripts with or without illustrations.

Do not send original artwork-- color copies only, please.

Author bio including expertise, publications, and story conception must be included.

Conflict resolution, problem solving, family values-based stories welcomed.

Strong desire for books that can be developed into a series.

Stories that integrate learning in science, history, language, and mathematics encouraged.

Length of work 750 words maximum. No minimum length required.

Illustration Guidelines
Raven Tree Press publishes award winning bilingual (English/Spanish) children's picture books. Since the artwork is as important as the story in a picture book, we look for artists with unique styles and interesting approaches in capturing a child's attention.
Raven Tree Press accepts unsolicited art samples periodically throughout the
year. It is best to review guidelines before sending your work, as needs and
desired style requirements may change. Simultaneous submissions are permitted.
We will reply to submissions if a self-addressed stamped enveloped is included
with the work or via email address submitted.
- Do not send original artwork-- color copies only, please. If electronic artwork is submitted, please send as PDF. Artwork will not be returned.
- Illustrator bio including expertise and published work must be included.
- Samples should show variety of styles and mediums.
- Include your name, address, phone, email, and website (when available) on samples.
- Strong desire for illustrations that tell a story through expression or artistic interpretation. Artwork that tells a story, highly desired.
- Book design experience is preferred, but not required.
